    Removing Pilot Bearing

So, spent a good 4-5 hours taking out the tranny today, looks like I have a rear main seal leak as well. Anyway, anybody know how to remove the pilot bearing from the crankshaft. They make a tool, but I didnt want to spend 80 bucks for one. I might try the local auto parts store see if they rent them. Anybody have a different way to remove them?

I was in your spot a while back and I ended up using a die grinder with a reamer bit.
I just cut through it slowly, and popped it out.
I would definitely check on rentals, or check part stores like napa, pepboy, advanced, they usually have specialty tools real cheap.

Some people pack the middle with grease and then stick something in the middle (a 3/8" extension piece is a good fit I hear) and that forces the grease to go in and push the bearing out. The 'hole' in the crank is concave, so there is room back there for the grease to go.

Just pry it out. The area behind it is sealed, so no need to worry. get a flathead in there, and pry it out.

Also.... you can get a angled tool in there, and pull it out. it isnt pressed in with much force, you can do it by hand.

The grease trick works everytime. Pack that bitch like a $2 whore full of grease. Then
use your alignment tool (or 3/8" ext) and push real hard, $2 whores love that. She will cum
right out and jizz grease all over the place. It's messy, but it's good lovin. Beats your blow-up doll anytime
