Thinking of Dirt endurance trip for e30, parts to bring along?

Not a race, but I was thinking of taking a course from Wisconsin to Alaska that my buddy did on his DR650se a couple years back. he has the route saved on GPS and after some conversation said that he thinks it would be perfectly doable in an e30 with some extra rebound in the suspension.

We started gaming it to do it in an e30 and was trying to figure out what parts you would take with you if you were doing it. I'll keep my parts list to myself to keep the question unbiased.

But if you were going 6k miles round trip in a 318is coupe on 90% dirt roads what parts would you take?

    Thanks for the insight.

Along with the pans, oil pan gaskets, a tap, some extra oil pan hardware and of course a skid plate.

sounds about right. Also throw some lamin-X on your lights so they don't get shattered by flying frocks. And upgrade to 55W HIDs, my guess is you're going to need the extra light.

                floor jack + stands
                oilpan bolts
                flashlight+batteries
                tierods

Might be too late for this, but: Fuel Pump, Belts, and the geared tensioner bolts for the belts for when they strip out. Hella 100W off road lights. Depending on the time of year you do it, you can bring a coffee filter with you to filter the water you take out of the ditch to pour into your rad. Might as well take a spare water pump. They are super easy to replace on a 318is on the side of the road, provided you brind a fan clutch tool and 32mm wrench. Alternator for sure. You can live without a starter. If it's 90% dirt roads, I would suggest a box of rear shock mounts and the gaskets for them. Electrical tape makes vacuum leakes go away. Tire repair kit.

Thanks for the insight... I replaced pretty much all the suspension on the car with new. I need to get front and rear shock tower braces as the car feels a bit loose still right now.

Replaced the brakes, Might replace lines with stainless braided... I replaced some engine gaskets, going to install a new clutch and ssk as well as rear main seal (tranny) I rebuilt and swapped in a 4.10 lsd diff. Got a lead on some good dirt tires that im told will make the trip, i installed a roof rack and am bringing two spare tires though in case.

Installed hella rallye lights with off road bulbs, Going to be installing rally armour flaps, And I purchased a chinsy skid plate but i think im going to buy some aluminum sheet and fab a proper plate to cover the whole front side, cut it and weld it to fit. I have more work to do on the car... but its coming along.

As far as engine is concerned i replaced the wires with a COP kit and Im going to replace the slew of coolant and vac hoses although i heard there is a way you can delete a bunch of them, and im going to look into that.

Also have to delete my AC, and am thinking about deleting power steering too.

Has anyone replaced their front windshield with a polycarbonate? Thinking of doing this for safety reasons. Not sure how feasible it is though.

                      Anyway thanks for the help...

as for parts you guys have alot of good ideas.
