High beam headlight fuse keeps blowing

I upgraded the headlights on my 91 318i from sealed beams to Hella H1/H4 lights. During the upgrade, I changed the fuses from 7.5 amp to 15 amp. The drivers side high beam keeps blowing a fuse but the passenger side works fine. Any idea of why the fuse keeps blowing for the high beam on one side only? I'm running standard 55/60W bulbs.

check your connectors at the lights, mine did the same thing and looked plugged in correctly but wasn't quite all the way in.

Upgrading a fuse is a phrase that stands my hair on end, even with a higher output the stock 7.5 amp should be sufficient and if its popping the 15amp fuse the problems are a bit worse.

I'm not gonna break into an electrical lesson but there may be a short to ground. The stock electrical for the headlamps is sufficient enough at 7.5amps. Check all the wires on that circuit, remember that the high and low beams are independent. There's a ton of diagrams available for the electrical system on the e30. I'm in Chino Hills maybe 2+ hours from you, if your ever near the area let me know and I can help take a look in person.

Hope that helped. PM if anything didn't make sense or you wanna meet up
