Speedometer, Odometer, and MPG meter

I just bought my first e30 325is (yay!) The speedometer/odometer and MPG meter don't consistently work. Whenever I hit a bump it has a tendency to falter and then go straight down to 0 MPH and the odometer stops counting. It'll turn back on at random. Any suggestions?

check and replace any un-correct fuse number. i change mine and now its working like a charm.

Sounds like an intermittent ground fault.

I think my first suspicion would be poor connections to/in the cluster, but the ground point for the cluster (above the steering column) is a possibility. Bad solder joints in the cluster are fairly common.
