    Vibration.

Well about two months ago i was gettin a vibration around my center console. I diagnosed it as the guibo and/or the center support bearing. After I replaced both, the vibration was still there. Anyone ever have the same issues? Now it seems worse and im getting an annoying vibration from the the steering wheel (front end). It seems like I'm having a ceisure when I drive. It pisses me off i want to drive the car into a pole to see if i can calibrate it.

    any help would be appreciated....thanks

Some would suggest tie-rods + control arm bushings. Mine shaked like that at freeway speeds, haven't really gotten rid of it yet.

if it's coming from the tranny tunnel area it's probably either tranny mounts or engine mounts. if it's suspension you'll feel it in the wheel. IMO

he said he felt it in the wheel... could be all of the above, actualy it is all of the above on cars this old its hard to find one that wont have all the rubber worn out...

well today i was driving home from work and I turned down the radio because I heard a noise comming from the driveshaft....right around where the CSB should be. It sounds like the driveshaft or a piece of it is hitting beneath the center console along with the normal vibration. I'll put it on a lift tomorrow afternoon and see what the deal is.

I also wanted to see where I had the most vibration in the front end. 60 mph is when the dash shakes like an off balance washing machine on spin cycle. any ideas??

          thanx

bent wheel(s)? tire(s) not balanced? warped rotors? tie rods? sway bar end links? control arms? ball joints? upper strut bearings? the list goes on, and that's just the front end, check everything.

id say start off with getting the wheels balnaced again.

i had the terrible shake in the steering wheel at highway speeds, i thought it was my CAB (i did one side but not the other) but i put my new wheels on which were just re balanced and i can take it to 90mph + and no shaking.

im getting some vibration in my driveshaft area too. when i get on the gas real hard, it sounds like its knocking against the tranny tunnel. i have replaced my tranny mounts recently, and was about to do the guibo and CSB, but from what yer saying, i think it mite be some other problem. i am curious to see what u find out.

I had a bad U-Joint in my shaft that would shake and would own CSB's. Maybe thats it and it's getting worse becuase it is wearing on other parts like the CSB...

I have been having a similar problem. When I accelerate. and the RPMs are low (easy to do with an auto), I get a vibration/rumble that sounds like it is coming from the center of the car. This usually occurs when the auto is in 2nd and the car is on an incline. This does not occur when the RPMs are high, and sometimes does happen when accelerating from a stop on flat roads.

Any thoughts? This is driving me nuts

Sounds exactly like your Center Support Bearing(CSB) for the driveshaft is worn or broken. Jack it up and take a look, see how much play it has. It should have almost zero.

my u-joints were gone. so loose i was amazed that it lasted that long. It owned my CSB but i got a driveshaft from beemerfanatik. gotta love that guy. now it runs like a dream. other than the other problems the car has.

How do you know if your driveshaft u-joints are bad? I get odd vibrations at higher highway speeds and under load (whether gas pressed down or AC on) and I'm replacing my CSB and guibo soon. How can I tell if my u-joints are fried?
