    Air Condition leaking freon.

Last week I take in the car for my AC. They charge up the system and get it blowing 43o out of the vents. Spectacular! I had previously done the r134a conversion myself but never got it the AC working as well as the shop did! I was amazed my E30 (which always had such shitty AC) was now blowing super cold. $173 well spent.

Unfortunetly, this week, AC stopped working. WTF? I pop the hood...the AC clutch was engaging. Maybe a leak? After a minute of looking at the pipes I spot some very light purple dye around that circular cylinder that sticks down in the pasenger side front fender flat.

My hypothesis is this is the spot of leakage. How would I go about fixing this? I need AC in AZ.

Take it back. The shop should have done a check to make sure the system would hold pressure before filling it. The might not have tightened everything they should have. And even if they did everything right and the leak occured after you left the shop they'll probably do something for you since they should guarantee their work for more than a week.

I know they do a flourescent dye thing to check for leaks but I thought you could only see it with a black light.

that round thing is the dryer, there is a small metal pin that will pop out if the AC pressure gets to high, only fix is to replace the dryer.
