From the top passenger side around the distributor cap. drivers side is clean and very back of the engine on the passenger side is clean. Just up front around distributor.

not uncommon with high mileage usually around the 150K+ either your rocker cover is leaking and running down the front of the head or your front cam seal is leaking which would explain the leak behind the distributor. You may want to check the two front oil plugs at the front in behind the timing sprocket. this is more common then the cam seal.sigpic -

take the valve cover off and you'll see the tops of the plugs. about 3/4 inch ea. there are two. You can probably grab them and pull up with needle nose pliers. If they are brittle/hard then you should replace them. Upon installing new ones clean the journal where they sit with brake clean or equivalent solvent. Then put a thin coat of gasket sealer around them and reinstall the new plugs. You'll have to push them down to seat them first before putting the valve cover/gasket back on.
also spray brake clean around the sprocket post and area to get rid of the oil residue. this will also help determine later on whether the came seal is also leaking. At least you'll get rid of the easier problem first.sigpicComment
