Big round thing ate my wires!
The big round thing (harmonic stabilizer?) ate my reverse light wiring. Anyone know how this is supposed to be routed/secured so after i fix it i dont run into this problem again. Also what would be the best way to fix this?

I can't tell exactly what I'm looking at here...
Are you talking about the driveshaft/guibo eating through it essentially? Not sure what else would be rotating back there...
There should be a connector on one side, and a plug on the transmission. You may be able to just get a new section of that wire/connectors. That's what I did. (had to get a new trans and just happened to have the wire with it)
It looks like the guibo on the top right then that big round thing goes around your driveshaft? That's odd, I don't have one of those. Anyways there are some clip like things (kinda like how a paper clip works) on the transmission housing. I have mine in along there and pulled tight.Originally posted by z31maniacI just hate everyone.

That wire section is usually clipped to the aluminum shifter carrier seen above. You can just ziptie it to it. And yes, that is your harmonic balancer.sigpicComment

Nice, that is super helpful. Did you just rebuild your shifter? Im about to embark on that journey too. Probably wont do a short shift yet, or the nice shiny aluminum bit, i have heard it is really nice. Pretty spendy though. Thanks for the help.Comment
