rear axle no go into hub

How in the hell does one get a remanufactured axle to go back into the hub? The teeth on the new one look like there powder coated and are not as polished as the one that came out.
The old one goes in a lot easier.
    What are some tricks?
    This is the Cardone brand.
    thanks

The first thing you do is to clean the splines to bright shiny metal. A small stainless wire brush, like sold at welding shops and Lowes, HD, etc., works well on the splines in the hub. For the axle small scrapers will be needed if it was painted. Finish the hub and axle with 400-600 grit crocus cloth. Every part of the splines (top sides, and bottom of the groove have to be bright and shiny).
The car makes it possible, but the driver makes it happen.

Pc? They should be nice and shiney. It's a "perfect fit" with no play. So if it's pc'd that would be the problem. Post up some pics.

just wondering if this was normal
I tried a wire brush but that crap would not come off
why in the hell do they paint the ends? They should be greased.

This is a common problem with the reman'd axles. IIRC, there are a few threads discussing them. Search it up I'm sure you'll find something.

well I had to give up and just put the old one back in which went right in without issue.
almost two days waisted on this.
now I have to pay to have it done.
the splines are just messed up on the remanufactured.

This is why you don't buy shitty remans. How much did you pay for the axle?

So who makes a good one under $600?

                after the core charge refund
                $43 each

Take your axle to a shop that remanufactures in house. If you were Michigan local I would reman it myself.

                    In my experience, no one.

The ~$100ea remans from Advance come close. But they have the wrong outer boots that will rub on the shocks and quickly fail. You can fix that for ~$100/axel by replacing the boots with OE parts.
