    headgasket

well my headgasket blew already well i believe its my head gasket, it sounds like an exhaust leak on the wrong side of my engine (m42) kind of by the injectors, its not a lifter because i put a stethiscope on the valve cover and i can't hear it in the valve cover anywhere and i put it on the intake and its lowder, which led me to believe it was a bent valve but its not consisten it goes away some times. so it was either lifter or exhaust leak but its not in the valve cover so the only other thing is a head gasket, now my question is iv done the head gasket once about 4 months ago, and im wondering weather i should do a copper gasket this time or a paper gasket or if there is any other gaskets i should try. i dont want to try over torquing the bolts because of fear of one breaking and then i have to drill it and tap it and thats just a pain in the ass. anyways any thoughts are appreciated.

Do a proper diagnosis first. A compression test will tell you if any valves are bent. Is there any coolant in the oil? Is there any oil in the coolant?
