Easier way to remove ellipsoid lens?

This putting it in the oven at 350* for 8 minutes and prying is tedious to the fullest extent. I was just wondering if there's another method to removing the lens? Thanks.

Heat gun maybe... either way you have to melt the glue a little.

Heat gun and a lot of patience. It also helps to not lose your mind when you accidentally crack your lens.

Heat gun (not a hair dryer) - takes about 10-15 mins per.

Start with cutting through the glue with a dremel disk. make an incision, then heat and slowly pry away lens.

semi off topic, what adhesive have you guys found to be the best when putting new lens's on?

I actually used an exacto knife..using a dremel disk sounds kinda unsafe..unless you were being sarcastic

Any black silicon. Better make sure you do it right the first time though. The thing I used is resistant up to 500*F so there's no way you're getting that lens off again.

Don't use black silicon because you will see it through the lens, unless you do all of them the same. Better to use clear.

I wasn't being sarcastic about the dremel. you have a cutting disk -hold the pod and slowly begin the incision. it will cut through the plastic and adhesive with ease. I have used a dremel for multiple applications. I made floor light in the speaker/kick panel with a dremel tool you can control the dremel because the cutting blade is spinning. but with a knife you have to saw back and forth and if that slips......?? I suppose whatever one prefers. nothing is completely safe in this world. it's call taking risk. but it's good to be prepared when doing the work. googles, gloves?

                          Just my opinion and experience.

I disagree with the clear silicon..the black will trap light from escaping. I used clear silicon in my high beam and I see that it's somewhat escaping through, but on my low beam its pretty light tight.

oven works best, just be patient. Id say more like 200 deg for about 10-15 minutes and pry using a plastic panel popper, not a screw driver.
