    DISSAPOINTING DAY AT THE DYNO

a group of 7 dyno'ed today and i wasnt real happy with my results.
im not very knowledgable with dyno's so i thought id toss it out here for those that are. im very rich. the operator told me im as rich as a turbo car. notice how it just keeps getting richer the higher the rpm is? a/f is in the low 10's
i think i need to drop down to 21.5# injectors at least to start.
the cars specs are as follows
    98 obd1 3.2
    schrick 264/256
    540 hfm
    24# injectors
    turner conforti software
    i was hoping for 250whp

Damn man...that is waaaay rich. You should easily be hitting 250rwhp if not more with the correct A/F. You are running the correct chip for the injectors/cams/hfm? Are you using an adjustable FPR? What PSI are you seeing at the rail?

The 24# injectors could work fine if you relieve them of some pressure.

im running a stock fpr. i guess that would be a good start huh??? what psi should i be looking for when i get an adjustable. funny thing is, before i put it on the dyno i thought my car was a monster. now it feels like a slug knowing the power im putting down

I don't have my reference for rail pressure in front of me, but I remember it being roughly 40 something (46? 42?). I would check it on your car and go from there.

Also, make sure with the conversion your ECU is getting the correct coolant temp sensor information for the injection. The Conforti chips usually don't cause a car to run THAT rich (and you don't have anything way off base it looks...), so I would possibly suspect another issue.

white car is gonna rip you apart. :P

I cant offer any real insight, so I wont even try. Best of luck in sourcing the issue blunt, hopefully your next dyno run is more to your liking.

you should be seeing about 43.5psi while idling. i wouldn't drop the pressure down lower than 40psi. you need a high pressure to keep the spray pattern optimal. a drop in pressure that small will not effect the afr that much. since the a/f curve seems very flat, i would do what you proposed by dropping to a slightly smaller injector, unless you want to run some type of piggyback system to compensate. that somewhat negates the whole point of a custom chip though.

you should see great gains once the a/f is worked out.
