    need switched 12 volt

    where i can i find a switched 12 volt wire in either the steering colum area or the center console area?

    i need to know the color of the wire also, keep in mind my car is m10 powered in case the wires may be different.

    i am trying to hard wire in my passport.

      Isn't the cig lighter switched 12V?

          Cig lighter is not switched unless it was wired to be by someone else.

          Bust out the ammeter and get testing. THat's the most reliable method.

              If you have an aftermarket deck installed, the yellow wire is usually the switched power.

                      If you have power windows, one side of the circuit breaker is 12v switched. Large green wire. There are only 2 wires there so hit it with a volt meter. I just used it for a new stereo. Might be a longer distance than you wanted, but it is there.
