    Removing the M42 Fuel Rail

    Is it safe to assume I just have to remove the two nuts and pull the rail out? I have the two nuts off, but I want to make sure that pulling the rail out is the right way. I want to know that I'm breaking my engine the smart way.

    Before you guys start asking, BP's and Tim's site don't cover the removal of the lower intake manifold. The E36 Bentley manual covers the E36 M42, but I'm still trying to use it as a guide.

    remove the two fuel lines that run from below the brake master cylinder and it sould pop out BUT make sure you note where the small vaccume line runs from the fuel pressure regulator [located at the front of the rail]

      I got the lines out, and that vacuum line came off with the TB. I'm glad I found out where that one went.

          In order to remove the lower intake manifold. There isn't enough room for a wrench to grab the upper nuts of the lower intake manifold.

            Once everything is off it will be held in by the seals around the injectors. Give it a gentle pry or tug it'll pop out.

              I decide to removed the lower intake manifold with the injectors attached. I forgot about the magic tools called extensions.
