    a/c toggle switch

Hey guys. Need some help getting my A/C to run. My switch in the car doesn't run the compressor, tried a few different switches including a brand new one with no luck. Ive had the compressor checked out and it kicks on and works fine.

Now my question if how can I wire the compressor to kick on with a toggle switch or a fog light switch, whatever. Do I just run wires from the compressor to the switch or is it more involved. Will this also make the electric fan kick on like it should when you operate A/C?

I need to get my A/C up and running now before the brutal SoCal summer and before all the A/C service prices sky rocket. Thanks.

I'd recommend fixing the problem instead of putting a band-aid on it.

Sorry, I have no info - I've never touched that circuit.

damn it. I don't wanna put a band aid on it but I also don't wanna an electrical nightmare on my hands. I don't even know where to begin.

If you've tried a new switch w/no affect you have a deeper problem. You'll almost certainly have to find an fix that problem before a toggle switch will work. The electricals for the A/C system are pretty simple, so it shouldn't be difficult to diagnose. The wiring diagrams at http://wedophones.com/BMWManualsLead.htm will be a big help.
The car makes it possible, but the driver makes it happen.
