Wiring Fog lights seperately (so they work with parking lts)

I can almost bet this has been mentioned on the forums once already. I did find the article at bmwe30.net, but it was for Post 88 E30's, and I wasn't sure if the wiring was the same or not.

My question is, how can I get my fogs wired so I can have them on whenever I want, so I don't have to have my regular lights on with them.

If there's an article, can anyone point me to it? I tried searching the forums, but nothing obvious popped up.

    Thanks!

www.bmwe30.net then go to articles and tips, electrical, and it should be under there. if not electrical, try somewhere else
Me: "I can't wait to redline my car!"
Mark: "Didn't you just break a rocker arm?"
Me: "Yeah, I don't think I've learned my lesson."
    Mark: "You never will."

Wire em into your accessories plus a switch.
Easiest wat, especially since you7r accessories are
only on with engine on or key in positive.

yeah, just use the supply pin (pin30?) of the foglight relay and hook it to the ignition wire. then power will be supplied whenever the ignition is on.
        Im now E30less.

He has an 87 325, i don't thin kany of those suggestions will work. I have a 87 325 as well, and they didn't work on my car.

Go to the tech section on my website www.mmsport.s5.com to ge tthe full instructions. the 88 and 89s are wired differently than most cars.

All the above suggestions were for 88-89 models.

Can you turn off the fogs after doing this?

Yes. The article Nick supplied makes the foglights controlled by the foglight button and parking lights. For example. As soon as your parking lights are on, you can have your fogs on or off by pushing the foglight button on your dash. Basically it gives you the kind of setup that E36's and newer cars have.

I just used the procedure on bmwe30.net to run my fogs independently/with my parking lights by jumping the 87 and 30 pin on the fog relay. However, this is causing my fogs to stay on regardless of the fog switch being on or off. Can someone tell me what the deal is? I would still rather have the option of turning them on or off via the switch. Thanks

                  This is on a 90.

I followed that procedure exactly and my fogs are staying on period. I can't turn the off with the switch. They are on even with the keys out?
