    Parting out a e30

    I have the opportunity to part out a 1989 325i and I want to use some of the parts on my 1984 325e. By the end of the day it just has to be rolling so it can make it to the junk yard. So far I have a list of things that I want to get off the car like door cards, headlights, rims and tires (same rim but the tires are in way better shape then I have now which is embarrassing), maybe front seats and a few other components.

    I also want to take the fuel pumps. My 84' has an internal and external, is it the same layout for the 89'? I also looked around the forums to find a DIY for removal of the external fuel pump but could not find any. Is it self explanatory once I get down there or am I going to get fuel all over myself if I start unplugging hoses and wires?

    If you guys had this chance, what are some valuable parts that you guys would take?

    The 89 car has a single in-tank high pressure pump, it won't interchange with your 84 unless you swap tanks.
    The car makes it possible, but the driver makes it happen.

      Heater blower motor and resistor are good to have.

        Jlevie - Thanks for the heads up.

        RagtopE30 - Are those blower and resistor prone to going out? So far my heater works fine.

        Is the exhaust for the 89' same as the 84'? I need a new catalytic converter....

          Sorry, but those are different also. I think you might be able to use the exhaust from the later car, but everything from the headers back would would have to be swapped.
