Can I change the old SI board (1.2V NiCd batteries) from an '84 MotoMeter cluster with the board from a '90 VDO cluster (3V Lithium batteries)? Will it work?
The old one is in bad condition because of leaked batteries. If I leave it as is, will it affect anything else except the indicator LEDs?

i doubt it will work. it might though. there is a different nubber of lights in them usually. try to change the whole cluster assy. might work better.

Not working. There is a different number of LEDs and also different number of pins for the back board. I want to use the old cluster from MotoMeter, because the new one has a big clock instead of a rev meter. And I can't put the rev counter from the MotoMeter to the VDO because the board from the VDO is a bit different and a little bigger. I can upload some photos if you want to see these.
