    Ignition problem

Last week I had a fender bender in my E30. After which I couldn't get it to start. I discovered I wasnt getting any fuel. I diagnosed that as a bad fuel relay, funny thing is the O2 relay went bad too. I suspect the main relay is bad now too. But now I am not getting any spark. I tried measuring the voltage at the coil, but it read no voltage. I know a bad ignition switch could cause this, but what else could cause this. It just seems suspect that after this accident I would have all these problems.
Because I said so, thats why.

The fusible link or the CPS would be my first suspects.

What is a CPS and where is the fusible link?

position sensor is located on trans but you also should check pick up sensor on wire set. what model e30 do you have that will also make a difference.if eta ignore wire sensor.check rotor n cap too.

CPS == Crank Position sensor It is responsible for providing timing data to the DME. If the DME doesn't see timing data from a rotating engine the fuel pump won't run. The Cylinder ID signal isn't critical. The engine will without it, though fuel mileage will suffer slightly.

The timing CPS and cylinder ID sensors on an ETA mount in the Bell housing. But on an I/IS/Ic/Ix the CPS mounts low on the right front of the engine and the Cylinder ID sensor is on the #6 plug wire.

The fusible link is in the smaller of the two wires that connect to the battery positive terminal.

Its an i engine. I know where the ckp is and it does make sense. I wonder if it got knocked out of position durring the accident. Do you know if the sensor is a hall effect or a magnetic pulse generator?
