Stripped Oil Pan, i think.

Hi guys,

I think i stripped my oil pan because the drainage bolt/plug just wont' tighten. What should i do? Advice guys, i'm losing oil slowly. Is there a way for me to rethread the pan myself? This is on a M42, if that make a difference. Thanks.

go to your local parts store... they should have all sorts of drain plugs... with pipe style threads that are slightly oversized... also they have rubber plugs that expand when tightened... or you could get a heli-coil

yeah try and tap a new whole. If all else fails u can just replace the pan cause its really easy on the m42
