    mustang injector question

    ok i have a stock 325i 2.5L auto.

i found a guy selling his '93 mustang injectors for CHEAP.
do these just take place of factory injectors or is there modification that needs to be done? also would i NEED to buy the MarkD chip?

    thanks.

A stock m20 does not need that much fuel. I would put m50 injectors instead. They are 17.5ib. which is more than enough fuel for an m20. Honestly, I would recommend another chip. The Mark D chips suck.

The eta engine uses low impedance injectors, Mustang injectors are not compatible.

I agree with you on not needing 19lb injectors on an otherwise stock engine but what's wrong with the MarkD? I have never heard a bad thing about it from anyone, myself included when I had an m20.

The Mark D chip has a bad idle and it also has trouble starting. I'm running a e/i hybrid m20 with a nicely worked head and a nice cam with the m50 inj. and a $30 ebay chip. Honestly, the ebay chip is way better!

Is the chip specifically tuned for a cammed m20 stroker with head work and 17.5lb injectors?

I meant the MarkD. I'm just surprised you had a bad experience with it.

We used two different mark d chips in four or more e30s and they all had the same problems. everyone says these chips are the shit but I wouldn't run this chip if it was free.

so you're saying just go get the 17.5 injectors and a ebay performance chip?
i like that idea, well my wallet does atleast!

There's no advantage to eny upgrade of injectors on a mostly stock M20B25 engine. The stock injectors have sufficient head room to achieve 12.5:1 (which is richer than you want to be) across the entire operating range if the rest of the fule system is working like it is supposed to. A race car would see 12.8-13:1 and that is easy to reach with a WAR chip or similar. A mostly street car is better served by about 13.5:1.
The car makes it possible, but the driver makes it happen.
