325e and 325i parts interchangable?

    325e and 325i parts interchangable?

    Such as alternator a/c compressor and such? found and i motor but not 100% complete so I am wondering if the smaller stuff would swap over

    Most of the parts from an ETA can be used on an I/IS and generally vice versa. As far as the engines are concerned the AFM, throttle body, intake, harness timing reference sensors, and DME won't interchange. You can use the transmission form an ETA on an I/IS, but not vice versa. Depending on what the production date of the I/IS is the water pump may be different.
    The car makes it possible, but the driver makes it happen.

      Trying to also grasp the Super ETA concept as well, so any pre Sept 87 eta CAN NOT accept the "i" head correct?

      Also read that people just say to swap the 325i motor instead of going with the eta bottom and "i" top

        You can put an M20B25 head, intake, AFM, etc on any M20B27 engine. The better engine to do this with is the SuperETA variant (produced from 9/87 to 8/88) as it has different pistons than an ETA and will yield a better compression ratio. In either case a "budget stroker" will make more power than the ETA or SuperETA you started with, but less than an M20B25. If you have a good M20B25 engine, the best thing to do is to swap that engine in place of the M20B27
