Hi to all, been reading a bunch of threads on gas gauge problems didnt find mine among them so here it is. I just completed a 700 mile trip gauge worked great, removed the whole cluster from the dash to repair the odometer (broken 12 tooth gear). Got that fixed and when I was ready to put the cluster together I noticed the needle on the gas gauge was pointing almost straight down and when I moved the needle by hand it would only go to 1/2 tank, felt like it hit a stop or? should I just reposition the needle or? is it a bad gauge, thanks for the help, 88 is motometer cluster.

You moved the needle most likely where does it rest and the nut on the back is the ground so that could also be the problem if the needle is at its normal resting position if its resting pointing straight down you moved it and just need to reposition itLast edited by bmwm42; 02-21-2011, 01:13 AM.Originally posted by bmwm42PNW vulture pm me for parts
