building an m42

there really wasnt a place to put this post so here it is.

has anyone ever "built" and m42 i.e. higher displacement/larger stroke any other cams. i would be happy with just an m42 if i could get it to lay down 160 or so bhp

Id say you could probably do it with some cams, exhaust and intake, some head work, and something like smt6. its not gunna be cheap

iv got a set of hot cams in my M42 that i got custom ground actualy iv got 2 extra sets of them in my room... and iv got injectors on the way, iv also got a chip, head work done, and exhaust. shes pretty quick, id say im at 160 atleast.

Which injectors did u figure out would work? You guys should buy some throttle bodies from me if I make them

iv got some 19lbers on the way, i was told they should work, if they dont ill sell them and get some 17.5 lber's. either way i need more fuel as im running lean with the cams and i dont get enough fuel at high rpms.

what kinda throttle bodies do you have, or are making? specs? pictures? anything info you got, as well as price.
ps: those 2 xtra sets of cams are for sale.

but are they m50 injectors or what? I have some that came in the throttle bodies but i dont think they will fit. How much for the cams?

I dont know if im gunna make more yet, but im at least doing a set for my car. i dont have any pics yet as I havent started, but its going to use 4 throttle bodies from a suzuki bike. They will probably be around 400-500 for the m42 which is a lot cheaper then most places.

those look sweet, can you get a picture with them mounted when your done? the cams im thinking 850$ for the set. have you tried out those throttle boddies? seen any significant gains? the injectors i got were out of the 5L mustang. bosch type 2 design 4 pintle. hopfully they dont pump too much fuel but we shall see. anyways lemme know if you want a set of cams.

what kinda bike are those throttle boddies off of? like size of motor, year? and will that settup you have, where are you thinking it will mount to? cut off the collector at the top of the intake and dril stuf bolts into it and mount it on?

No i havent started getting them on and im not expecting any big gains from them but they should do something. Its some suzuki bike and im not sure if im going to mount them to the lower intake manifold or just make my own thing

i would recomend having the runners, probably a good idea to make your own thing to mount them.

Judging by the picture, it looks like those throttle bodies came from a Suzuki GSXR600 ;)
