New A/C Compressor - Has anyone heard of SANDEN compressors

I called up eap4parts and asked about a new a/c compressor, and the guy told me about a compressor kit for the e30 made by SANDEN.. comes with bracket, fittings, blabla, everything. At only ~$300, it's a good deal, but I don't know anything about A/C, so can someone tell me what my options are. I was quoted 1200 to replace the compressor and convert eveything using an oem unit at an independent shop... $$$$$$

The problem is that the a/c only blows cold when the cars moving, or I rev up the engine. The aux fan is running, btw.

is your compressor belt slipping? get a new belt for it first.

Are you running R134a or R12? R134a doesn't cool as well as R12; it can be made to do so but it will require a more efficient condensor. The newer "plate" style, I think, are more efficient than the old tube & fin variety. Just a thought...

all belts are fine. no noises either. It has the original R12 refrigerant right now.
