    E34 M5 throwing stars et24 on E30 w/ E36 5 lug swap? help?

ok so im not all up on this offset crap. I have a full set of four E34 M5 Throwing star wheels on my E34 (et 24), and i am pondering about swapping my E30 over to 5 lug with the E36 part kit from THR. I know that the technical dynamics of that setup call for the et41 wheels, and i know that the wheels on my car now are the 14 x 6.5 4 x 100 et 30 wheels. my question is, will this work? can i put my throwing stars that are 17 x 8 F & R et24 on the E36 5 lug swap on my '90 325is E30? i just dont get this offset info, and my theory is that it would work but not sure. if so what size spacers would i need?

    thanks

You will need to use E30 M3 hubs, you will be way outside the fender if you try that.

now see, thats what i was afraid of. thank you so much. how about the E36 M3 suspension, would that accept an E30 M3 hub? ( stupid question?)

Like Mystikal said... you will need to use E30 M3 hubs, but why not use the whole E30 M3 suspension... bigger brakes... is always a plus...

Using E36 or even E46 suspension with wanting to use your throwing star wheels won't work due to the offset.

What does the E30 M3 suspension swapped over to a non M car do to the offsett? Does it stay at about +25?

better question is, where can i find this whole setup? must it come from a parted out M3? or can i purchase all new? how much am i looking at spending either way? i want to keep my throwing stars.

                    Yep.

And you can still buy it all new, or from a wrecker.

how much? i figure i could go out, buy the suspension setup i like, and then just get the hubs, i think the rear subframe is different based on the etk. i was looking it over and there are only a few smal bits and pieces that are different, but i would like to know what i can expect to pay for that whole setup with for instance coil overs.

Used condition is usually around US$600-1100 depending on the seller ;)

FN condition would probably be US$2500+

Visit http://www.strictlyeta.net for a great parts breakdown. Fred, the site owner, documented his entire swap and his site was very helpful to me when I did the swap.

Basically what you need is the following:

                        -Front strut tubes
                        -Front hubs
-Front brake assembly (rotors, calipers, backing plates, etc)
-Front sway bar & sway bar links (different than the regular E30's)

                        -Rear hubs
                        -Rear brake assembly
                        -Rear sway bar

**most folks will sell you the whole rear trailing arm and everything attached to it so they don't have to dismantle everything**

**if you plan on running bigger sway bars than don't get them from the M3, but do get the front sway bar links**

                        Good luck :)
