    dig in.

You have to remove the shifter and ebrake surrounds, then you gotta pull out your center consol a bit to undo some screws. its really not that bad, just keep track of where everything attaches and what screws go where.

then theres a little tray thingy that the lights are on in the OBC, its not that difficult, just a bit time consuming.

I didn't have to remove the shifter or any part of the lower console when I did that job...

The OBC is held onto the center cluster face plate. You don't need to unscrew the OBC from the cluster plate to change the OBC bulbs.

Go to my website - linked in my signature. I have writeups on retrofitting the OBC and replacing all the dash/cluster bulbs. You should be able to figure out what to do from those writeup.

One thing to note - since you are not retrofitting the OBC, you don't need to completely remove the center cluster face plate... but if you want to replace all the bulbs behind that plate, just take it out and then get easy access to all the bulbs. You don't absolutely need to take the plate off, but it is easier than fishing around back there and hoping to grab the bulb.

thanks for the writeup zozo. I got the faceplate out. How many bulbs supply the lower half of the face plate?

Also are the bulbs that supply the vent knobs replaceable? Those little cylinder copper things in your picture.

There are 2 bulbs behind the center console area. They are listed on this picture and are much easier to get to if you take the consolve out.

As far as the vent sliders - there are no bulbs in there. If you replace both bulbs in the center console area, everything should light up just fine assuming your plastic light diffusers aren't broken. (which I doubt).
