    E30 Header Question

    O.K. I have a 1987 325 E and I was wondering..I know a friend who has
a set of Racing Dyanmics headers for sale but here is the problem,
I've been told that the headers don't fit on E30's with an auto tranny.
Is this true? Am I screwed? The guy who is selling the set told me that
the fit would be so close, an extra gasket would do the trick.

Anybody out there with any experience with this problem? Any help would be appreicated.

    Stock (for now) 2.7....209,000 mi.

Headers for an "i" exhaust, will probably have to change everything over. At least then I could "hear" it running.

My buddys 87 is has headers on it and it definately sounds alot different than my stock ix. Were both running stock exhaust systems from the cat back, so the only difference is the headers. Sounds a lot more throaty, especially in the lower rpms

I don't think they'll work on an e, not just because of the tranny, but also because of the oil filter housing. This is easily fixed though. Not sure about the tranny issue. If it doesn't work out, tell you're friend I'll buy them immediately - need them for my stroker.

I'll buy those headers immideately. Especially if they have connecting pipes. Name a price.

Hey, I was first. I'd love to get a hold of those. I already have the complete center section from RD.

Let me be honest here. Don't waste your time putting ehaders on an automatic Eta, they will do nothing for the car, it won't be faster. As Rob said just get a muffler

Take this advice and then let me buy them, they'll do wonders in my car. If you really want headers, I'll give you the shorty's I have on right now.

Thanks for the advice. If he is still selling them, I'll find out soon and
let you guys know. So what about converting over to an "i" exhaust?
Worth it? I am putting a Conforti Chip in soon and am wondering what
other mods I can get away with..within reason. Will an "i" exhaust be
helpful? What about cold air intake? No heat shields made for the early
E30's right? Also looking for Eibach Springs, thanks. I know I should've
just bought an "I" instead of trying to make my "E" one. Hey, I only paid
2,800 for the car.."Passing up people with car payments-and looking good
                  doing it!" Still learning!! Thanks.

If your going to convert to an I exhaust Id recomend going with an I intake manifold, etc. I've heard some good reviews on that swap. Not sure on everything youll need to make it work, so do a search.

I'll also give you an "i" intake manifold, cone air intake and complete "i" exhaust system for $70 if you sell me those headers for a reasonable amount.

I'll give you my current headers, and either a super eta intake or 'is' intake if you give me a good deal on the others.
