    c104/tach question

I just put a motronic 1.0 m20 into an '88 body. I have the ETMs and have studied them, but I have a couple questions. I don't want to hear "convert to 1.1 or 1.3".

As far as I can tell, the '88 tach gets it's signal from the DME through c101 pin 9. My '86 motor harness uses the c104/green wire from coil.

What do I need to do to get a working tach in the car? Is it as simple as connecting my engine side c104 pin 1 (green) to the black wire from pin 9 of the body side c101?

Look for the c104 pictures in the m30 section, you'll find out what each wire does. Tach/Mpg/Start... should be green, black and white/yellow iirc.

    Yep, its very simple.
