    Electrical problems

I have an 86 eta, that sat in my garage for about a month, when I went to start it the battery was dead, I charged it, and the car started, but then tach didnt work anymore, and the battery eventually died again, I got the battery tested at the local autozone, and they said it and the alternator were ok. I searched and saw some similar problems that people had from the si batteries, but why would that drain my battery? The guy at the store said i could put a multimeter between one of the battery cables and pull fuses to see it somthing else was draining the battery, how would I do this if I need to? Thanks - Graham

I'd get a second opinion about the alternator and battery before you start tearing apart your instrument cluster. The SI battery is NiCad and is only designed to last a few days without battery power.
