    engine electrical connection

well ive got the new engine in so i have begun to hook everything back up.
during removal i made the mistake of not labeling the wires so now i have 4 of the same connector and cant tell which one goes where. i was wondering if there was someway to check, perhaps a continuity test with certain pins on the ecu plug? any help would be good
    thanks

Pull back the rubber boots, and find the wire colors. Then look in the ETM for what plug it is or post the wire colors up here.

Electrical trouble shooting manual. You can get copies off ebay or buy a bound set from the dealership. Has any and all wiring info you will ever need for your car :)

Probally, every year e30 has little differences in wiring. The Ebay ones have the ETK and other CD's and are $30 where as I paid $65 Friday for the factory bound one for my 81 633csi(CD's don't go that far back)

                  Starter
                  black and green-8mm nut(top I believe
                  black and yellow-10mm nut(bottom I belive)
                  red-13mm nut
black(from battery)-same 13mm nut the one that is closest to the brake booster and dosn't have the braided cable.

                  TPS-Brown/ Brown-Blue/ Brown-Black
                  reference sensor-see below
sensor on spark plug wire- Both these are the same color but not interchangable. Do you have the Diagnostic bracket they bolt slide into?

Ok if you look at the bracket you will notice that the plugs only go one way, Your wiring should have a natural bend where it attaches. Move the wiring till the bend looks like, then Grab the 2 wires from the Crank sensor, and Spark plug wire. These 2 should have a natural bend, just line it all up and plug in. IF the car won't start swap them around.
