My shifter has too much play in it, and I don't know what causes shifter play. It is loose in the middle, and when it can gear can be moved almost 2 inches left or right when it shouldn't be moving at all... What can I replace to fix this?

well, now is a good time to look into a short shift kit that comes with all the bushings to replace....you already need the bushings you might as well. thats how I look at it. -
Pelican parts has a kit for doing this, i know because it is this weekends project!!! Also like E30MACK said perfect time to do a ssk, also if you want to really tighten things up get a dssr (dual shear selector rod) That is said to really tighten things up. However it does come at a cost. There pretty pricey. If you want to do a short shift kit there is an awesome thread on that, just search short shift kit. Best of luck...Comment
