    Gauge Questions

While trying to figure out why my M42 is running hotter than before, I found something interesting. Whenever I tap on the cluster, the tach and temp needles will wiggle (not a lot, but enough so that you notice). However, the speedo and the fuel needles stay solid. My temp gauge is going crazy. An example would be tonight, the gauge was reading very close to 3/4ths, and it usually reads a needle (sometimes a hair) above 1/2. It's like the gauge picks a random temp above 1/2 on the gauge and sticks with it. I've had it change after getting gas too. Before turning the car off to get gas, it was running a needle above 1/2. After getting gas, the car was reading a hair above 1/2.

Is this a sign of failing SI-Batteries or a bad ground nut?

probably not the si batteries...but maybe you could check some fuses or something? maybe check the solder joints on the SI board? :|

Take your pick. These symptoms can be caused by both issues. I'd bet money on the ground nut though.

I'm 99% that's what it is. I've been reading about the jumpy temp gauge, and it sounds to be exactly what my problem is.
