Just replace the switch, or remove it and clean it.
Does the noise go away when you are not driving? If it's only present or changes with driving then it's most likely not the fuel pump but more of a drive-train issue (driveshaft, differential, axles for example). If you turn the car on and the noise is present right away, then it might be the pump.
If you have an early car, then it might have two fuel pumps, one is infront of the driver side rear wheel and one is inside the fuel tank. If you have a late model car, then it's just the in-tank pump under the back seat.
