    heater core plumbing

So I have the dreaded heater core/plumbing leak. Don't really know where its leaking exactly so I'm probably going to order the o-rings and have a shop use some equipment to build up pressure so I can pinpoint the leak.

I'm a little worried about one thing though... my 91' has that steel support thingie (not in the Bentley of course) that runs across the kick panel. Part of the bracket gets in the way of the heater core. I haven't tried pulling the core yet but is this thing going to get in my way? Sorry for asking a soft question, but this is kind of the luxury of the internet, I get to scope out potential issues right?

BTW it almost looked like it the heater valve that was leaking (like where the valve connects via screws to the pipe, it's one bmw part though), it may just be that it was splashed with coolant from one of the other connections.
