my block is so messed up. im lost, and dont want to give up!

my engine mount bracket on the driver's side, broke clean off of my block, shearing the four bolts flush with the block. the top two are out but the bottom two, (one with half an extractor in there that is hardened steel mind you) are still in there.

I need ideas, considering buying a carbide tip, but tried a cobalt drill tip and nothing.

this is ridiculous, and i dont have the money to replace the whole engine ( which i would much rather do) but if i can save it, i will.

    help, anyone any ideas, anything?

Drill threw, Insert extractor, Have a friend heat the area with a torch, then pull it out. The heat will help loosen it up, Just make sure to shield the oil pan or any flamable areas.

damn easy outs are worthless. good idea, bad follow thru. Will the carbide tip do the trick? thats the main question, or would i be better off taking the whole goddamn engine out and work on it then. Its a tough spot to access, and i can barely reach the rear lower right one.

        damn.

What sort of engine do you have in there now? I have an E engine in good condition that I want to get rid of. PM me.

Cut , file or dremel a slot in it. Back it out with a screw driver.
Buy a couple of reverse drill bits. Sometimes it will back out while you are drilling through it, to use an extractor.
If the extractor fails, drill it out and insert helicoil. Everthing is fixable with a large enough hammer.--Steve
