    Correct "feel" of feeler gauge

So the question is what the feeler gauge is suppose to feel like when adjusting the valves. I just adjusted mine to .01 inches which is what the bentley recommended.

After adjustement I definately hear a tick.

Also whats the trick to keeping the eccentric in the correct position when you tighten it down?
Renting my rear wheel bearing tool kit. SIR

Dude, you want the gauge to have a slight drag on it.
Keep the eccentric snug to where you can turn it but not to where its just spinning around. Then it will pretty much stay where the gauge places it.

I personally keep a little tension on the eccentric while I tighten the bolt down.
But having the spring tensioned adjuster tool is the best way for noobs like yourself.

It all comes down to preference and experience. it definately shouldn't feel too loose, just kind of a little "snug."

A ticking M20 is a happy M20. Try adding 20W-50 to reduce the ticking slightly, but ticking is good.

i adjust mine tight to the gauge, but where it still slips out without a fight.
