    Fuel Gauge

I have an 86 325e. I'm having problems with the fuel gauge. nine times out of ten it doesn't work. I used to be able to tap the dash to get it to work, but now it seems to only cooperate when it wants to. Strangely, whether or not the fuel gauge is working, the low fuel indicator pops on every time.
    Any help is appreciated
    Thanks a lot

Your cluster... It has problems. Does your service interval indicator work?

No, the service interval indicator is down as well. What would your next step be?
      Thanks,

I have the same problem. My fuel gauge always shows full, but the yellow low fuel light always turns on when Im getting low. I was replacing the odometer gears and while I was back there, I tightened up the fuel gauge bolts and made sure everything was ground correctly. My service interval indicator works, also.

What else could be the problem? Is it fuel pump/level sensor?
