    Clutch Brake Light

So my problem is kind of strange.

Whenever I depress the clutch in my car the brake lights come on. I really have no clue how this is happening. I noticed that my brake lights were coming on a weird times but did not figure out what was going on until this morning.

any help or ideas would be greatly appreciated.

buttons or the connectors for the buttons have been switched. Your clutch has a button for cruise control.

How could they have gotten switched? I have not touched any of the electrical down there.

does your brake pedal also make the light come on, or not at all?

is it possible you have always had this problem, and just not noticed it until now?

your pedal box is broken and twisting when you push the clutch. my friend had this exact same issue on his car.

The brake light still comes on correctly. There is a chance that i have not noticed this but, it seems very likely. My cruise control has always been iffy at best and recently has not worked at all.

So how do I resolve that?

              replace the entire pedal box?

Could it possibly be the switch that is down there?

I think it is for the cruise control. Part #61318360421

It seems that the brake light is sticking on now, and when I pull back on the clutch pedal it will turn the lights off.

That's from the pedal box flexing too far and staying that way. Get down there and push the clutch with your hand, you'll see.

that is about the same as mine. It just doesnt seem like anything is loose or bent down there.

There is a simple test to determine if the problem is a mechanical issue with the pedal box or a wiring issue. Hold the brake pedal switch in it's compressed (off) position. Then push down on the clutch pedal. If the brake lights don't come on, the problem is mechanical.
The car makes it possible, but the driver makes it happen.
