Tranny Help!

My trannsmission rattles a whole lot on my 87 325is, after 4.5 grand, and its getting really annoying. Its loud and irritating. Does anyone know how to get rid of that rattling noise? Or maybe its just a hole somewhere on my exhaust manifold? Thanks.

What makes you think it is the transmission? Where does the rattle come from? Is it related to shifting? Honestly it sounds more likely that a broken exhaust flange or something is rattling around, but you gotta get more specific.

Basically if my car goes above 4.5grand in any gear, at any speed, it rattles pretty loud. I also get a suddle vibration in my feet, so I am taking it that its from my tranny.

Possible bad rubber tranny mounts? Did you check to see if anyting is loose under the car? Like KevinM said, it might not be the tranny.

probably your heat sheild. I shut mine up with a few self tapping shooter screws :)
