Vert owners

Hey guys, this is a question for other vert owners. There is a lot of squeaky noise inside the car, coming from the back seat area. I dont know if its from the top or if it is the bushings to the suspension. Has anyone else had the squeaky noise come from the back?

Most likely it's worn out rear upper shock mounts.

Upper shock mounts would be my first guess, but being a 20+ year old convertible it's gonna squeak...

I get it a lot....Its probably the upper shock mounts....but I keep thinking its like the back seat or something.

I plan on doing most of the suspension later this summer so hopefully it gets taken care of.

dont wait, even a novice can replace rear shock mounts in less than 2 hours. I recommend bimmerworld's lifetime mounts.

I replaced my RSMs in about 20 minutes at a meet.

You should be able to tell the difference between an interior squeak and a worn rsm. If it is from inside just have someone else ride with you and find where it's coming from.

Ok guys, thanks for the input. I was going to change the shock mounts, with the shocks and springs.

After 20 years the car will most likely squeak and this is the nature of most convertibles including bmw's. there is body flex due to having no roof support.
Just the nature of the beast. My IS coupe is quiet. my vert. noisy..lol
