    80' 745i motor

I found a 1980 745i car on ebay the guy didnt sell it i dont think. If anyone knows anything about these motors i would like to hear some about it. I know that it is a 3.2l turbo motor that supposedly runs like an n/a 4.5. The guy said the turbo needed reworked so i was wonderin how would this car be for my 91 318is. I think i could get the car for about 1k, if its runnin, im not gonna screw with it if its not.

Look in the engine swap section under M30, The 745i is a Turbo M30 engine designated the M102 or M106 ( I believe). The early ones are not very well built, It would take a lot of work to swap it into an E30

Its a turbo M30. It has a few unique parts, including the head which will be very hard to find if it cracks on you. I'd run away just because of the rarity of spare parts.

            ^ What he said.

Putting 25 year old turbo technology into your car isn't what I would consider a performance upgrade. Get a late model M20 or M30 and turbo charge it yourself. You would be in for about the same amount of money but with way better power.
