    Removing radiator support?

How hard is it to remove the radiator support.
I am getting ready to drop the engine back in. ANd when i was pulling it with my hoist i had really big issues with clearing radiator support due to the hoist size and how my garage would block it form going fully up.
I noticed in many rebuild photos people have the front radiator support off. How hard is it to remove?

Yea heard that. Definetly a flaw IMO. You get in one little front end collision and tweak that and your gonna have to cut it out and weld in a new one or try your best to straighten it out.

Mine is off right now waiting for a replacement from Vines. The entire assembly welds on at the fenders and under the unibody frame horns.

I don't see why you couldn't modify this from a weld-on to a bolt-on component. You may have to add a little metal in places, but it ought to work. Isn't the 5-series a bolt-on?

Make it removable. If you have any fabricating skills or know someone it shouldn't be that hard. Couple build threads on here show pictures of how other people have done it.
