door trim (that goes around the window)

Anyone know how to remove this with out bending it? I am talking about the stuff that runs along the top of the window that is attached to the door. Also anyone have a list of the clips required for this and the pillar trim on the door? its hard to tell what is what on the real oem page

I didnt even bother trying. I just masked it up and shadowlined it on the car. Worth the effort IMO to do a proper mask than risk warping the hell out of the trip and snapping clips.

But if your replacing it because its physically damaged.... good luck to you.

I have removed it and as stated a PITA doing so. You risk damaging the molding; But after a few tries doing it and you get to the know how part it isn't so bad. but if it's a one time deal..scuff up the surface with Scotch bright pad so that paint will stick, mask and paint.

It doesnt matter where you start when you remove it.
But this is how you do it.

              Remove the mirror.
Remove the seal around the top of the door.
              Remove the rubber window seal.
Look inside of the window track and you will see small little clips.
Take small flat head and press on the clip and pull out a little on the trim till its loose.
Slowly work your way around the trim till its all loose and lift up off the door.
              Done deal. :)
