Firstly because they do not have to be replaced every time you remove the head. Secondly they are stronger. I would like to build a turbo M42 sometime soon, but want mucho power. I was originally thinking around 300-350 which is fine with arp head bolts but now I have my eyes on 400-450, maybe even 500hp but I don't trust the head bolts due to torquing and how it is spread across the bolts. Studs are much more reliable.
YES I know I can do an 24valve swap turbo and have that power for a fraction of the cost but I want to have a crazy as M42 just to stick it up you guys.
On that note I have found ARP head studs for the M42 so please ignore thread.
