    window motor

    is not working properly.

It's a 325i (4 door). Previous owner changed the switches near the shifter to e36 switches so there's some splicing down there but I really don't think this is the problem.

The rear driver's side door has been acting up for a while, I used to be able to make it work by simply opening the door and as long as the door was open it would work. Now it will not work even if I open the door. While I was trying to troubleshoot the window I opened the door and noticed that it was working again, I keep checking for any loose wires and rolling the window up and down. And then one time it kept going down and never came back up.

I switched the switch at the door with the other one (rear passenger's side door window switch) since I know it works and I now know it's not the switch itself. Has anyone had a similar problem to this? any tips on how to troubleshoot?

I also don't know if this is related or not but the same door's lock doesn't work. All the other doors and the trunk work fine.

    Thanks again R3v!

That sounds like chaffed wires or a bad connection at the junction of the door wiring and body wiring.
The car makes it possible, but the driver makes it happen.

yeah that's what I'm thinking too but wouldn't that just completely turn off the motor?

it still wants to work when I press down, I can hear the motor bumping the bottom and I can see the light coming on but when I press up there's no sound or nothing.
