    Sticky dash button fix?

Defrost button - it engages/disengages/works ok - but requires me to 'tap on it real hard' for it to 'pop' back out.

Anyone had success with dielectric grease or something?

Seems like I remember a story where wd40 was used on phone buttons or something - and it just made it worse - want to avoid that experience.

(i ran a quick search w/ no luck..)

I would imagine that aerosol white lithium grease would work well, seeing as it is actually a lubricant(wd-40 is not).

Take it out, disassemble it, clean it with hot water, let it completely dry, and reassemble it. It probably just has 20yrs of gunk in it.

        10-4 guys.
Yeah - lithium grease was on list of potential lubes to use - and yeah, you're probably right about 2 decades of gunk..

Don't lube it, just clean it. They don't come lubed when new. It's a really basic mechanism. Just clean the crap out of it.
