    Cost for clutch replacement

Anyone have a good idea of a fair price to get the clutch replaced on a 1987 325es? Not sure I have the extra time to do this myself. I have enough projects already!

I would assume that in addition to getting the clutch parts replaced, I would also have them do the rear main seal, the tranny seals and the guibo. Anything else suggested to be replaced?

    Thanks!

      - the exhaust will be off the car before it goes to the shop and i will replace it and the gaskets.

So add the Center Support and Driveshaft bolts to the list.

Anyone have a ballpark idea of the cost?

Figure 5 to 6 hrs in labor, and $2-300 in parts.

I was quoted about $850 to do my clutch. Then I just did it myself.

Just quoted $640 for the labor alone. Parts were about $325.

Got a local guy who knows e30s well to do it - getting a pretty good deal. Not going to the independent shop who wants more than I paid for the car to do it.

Damn, you guys are getting hosed.
The local BMW/Volvo shop replaced my clutch, transmission (rebuilt), csb, and tranny mounts for only 1200.
                I can't believe ya'll are being charged 850 for a clutch job.

OH yea, have them change out your tranny mounts also, if you don't know if they have been replaced, just in case. Do it since they will have access to them.
