AC leak Wheres it coming from

I got my car with a non functional AC system. I it the other day with 134 just to see what whould happen, and its leaking out down near the accelerator pedal. Is there a common piece in that area that breaks? Also the compresor wont engage when i push the button, but lets see if i can even get it to hold a charge first. Any info is greatly appreciated.

Well, if it's pissing out by your accelerator pedal, that is a dead give away to either your expansion valve or evaporator. Both are located behind the dashboard near the center console. The easiest access to them are through the passenger side. If it's never been replaced and you're anal about the A/C system like I am (considering I live in SW Florida, it's a necessity), you are better off converting the bastard over. Otherwise...roll the window down. lol
