    Crank Position Sensor

Hi everyone, car died (quietly) check and had no spark, checked it with another spark plug no spark. Sooo I checked the cps with my ohm meter and only had 134 in resistence need 5-600 ohms. So I ordered another cps, my question is the lead from the cps just seems to dissapear under a mess of water hoses. The photo of the cps I ordered shows the whole thing as one piece about 2ft long so does anyone remember where the lead goes and how to get the old one out without tearing half the engine apart, thanks for any help.

The lead from the cps goes across the front of upper timing belt cover over the water pump and comes out on the driver's side along with the lead from the oil pressure sender.

There's a plastic cover that holds those two wires in away ( and against the upper timing belt cover) from the water pump pulley. They are usually brittle and can break so be gentle.

Correct on all counts. And I'd add that the plastic cover is very important as it keeps the wires that run through it away from the water pump pulley. Best to have a new cover and mounting clips on hand when you change the CPS.
The car makes it possible, but the driver makes it happen.

Hi thanks for the info, the shealth is not avail any longer so Ive improvised on that problem. I snaked the new cps wire around and thru the water pump pulley and used some wire ties on both ends to make sure it didnt contact the pulley. I also ordered the plastic piece that goes on the timing belt cover on the passenger side, this also helps against chafing the wires. By the way after much troubleshooting it was the cps that was bad and when I hooked up the new one car started right up, thanks.

Yes it is. The wire chase part number is 11141716133 and the part number for the clips that hold it on is 11141716134 (2ea required).
